The wire alarm lock features the same TufAlarm 1" x 2" x 4" stainless steel alarm base that accepts two ends of a security wire. It offers simple alarm protection, without the thicker security cable of the cable alarm system, and can be extended in a straight line, rather than completing a loop back to the TufAlarm unit.

This security wire is threaded through your equipment, furniture, or merchandise. If the wire is cut, the 120-decibel alarm will shriek for about 2 hours, or until it is turned off using the resettable combination. The unit also activates two high intensity light flashers which can be seen for up to half a mile. The standard 9-volt battery lasts for more than 12 months. If the alarm is triggered, the battery should be replaced.

If you need to add anchor plates so you can attach the security able to your property our new epoxy glue gives an unbelievably strong bond on any surface, and will fasten up to 40 of the security plates, which can also be screwed to your equipment with security screws.

The TufAlarm wire alarm systems are designed for indoor or outdoor use, although it's best to shelter the alarm when used outdoors. The stainless steel case is designed to be durable and to give years of service. The 120 db siren alerts you if the 18 gage wire is cut

The basic system includes a TufAlarm control unit that comes with a base anchor connector and a detachable lasso end. You purchase additional alarm wire separately, in 25 foot lengths, which is added between the anchor connector and lasso end.

The TufAlarm control unit is attached to the first item to be secured. The alarm wire is then run through or attached to the remaining items to be secured. You then attach the lasso end to the wire and lasso it to the last secured item, thereby anchoring the entire security wire system. You can add additional 25 foot cords between the TufAlarm and lasso end to create a longer cable, which we've tested to 200 feet so far.

You may also need security plates so you can attach the cable to your equipment, or security anchors to anchor the cable to something solid. These are found in our Cable Anchors and Padlocks section.

We can create alarm wires of longer or shorter lengths. Your main consideration is how much wire needs to be threaded and unthreaded to add or remove items secured along the alarm wire. Cost of additional cable length is $.40 per foot, and it's best to call us to order unusual lengths.
